Nürburgring pitstop action |
Mike Eady is both an accredited motorsport licence examiner and a gifted racing driver with an impressive list of credentials.
He trained at the Winfield Racing Drivers School in France (one of the best!) and has competed in races in England, France, Italy, Australia and Germany.
He's even taken on the notorious German Nurburgring, competing in four 24-hour races. He was placed in the top three in his class in 2000 and won in 2001 and 2002. This feat puts him in the top echelon of New Zealand motor racing drivers.
His racing experience also includes second place in the New Zealand Formula Vee Championship in 1993, taking the New Zealand 1600 Touring Car title in 1998, driving for the Nissan Racing New Zealand team at Bathurst in 1998, a stint as a factory driver for Volkswagon, second place in the Formula Challenge TV series, and driving in the 2003 Bathurst 24 hour race.
A founding member of the Auckland Finance Racing Team, Mike has been racing under the AFR banner since 2001.
Eady wins in stonkin wagon
21 Jun 2004
Mike Eady, in partnership with John McIntyre, put in a spectacular performance to win the 4-hour endurance race at Manfeild on 19 June, despite starting from 7th on the grid in their Audi RS4. Amazingly, the RS4 is a station wagon! Three weeks earlier, they finished 3rd in the 6-hour endurance race at Pukekohe. |
