TrackTime's second area of expertise is in the organising of automotive events. Some of these are for the public, such as the Motor Sport Expo at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour, and some, such as corporate race days, are privately held events for invited guests.

Event Organisation...

No-one knows the automotive event market quite like Mike Eady and his TrackTime team. They have been involved in organising large public events for years, and these are always hugely successful.

In November 2003, TrackTime was contracted by Auckland City Council to organise the Motor Sport Expo at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour. This was a hugely successful event, timed to coincide with an international F1 Grand Prix. The manufacturers of Formula One cars set up public displays of their latest model road cars for the entertainment of the thousands of visitors who attended.

Such events are most commonly held in Auckland, but TrackTime has the resources and contacts to run automotive events in any part of the country.

Corporate Race Days... Companies are always on the lookout for new, innovative ways to thank valued clients for their custom, or reward staff for their hard work. Corporate race days are an obvious solution to the dilemma of how to simultaneously entertain, enthral and educate these people. Most people are keen to improve their skills, particularly if it involves driving fast cars as quickly as possible on a dedicated race track. TrackTime organises a corporate day to suit the interests of the participants. Options include being taught the rudiments of race car driving in specially designed twin-engined ProKarts. Off-roading is also on the menu, with drivers put through a fun-based obstacle course. Quad bikes and off-road buggies can also be taken for a spin, and helicopter rides can also be part of the entertainment package. The highlight for most, however, is usually the race car ride. Guests are given the opportunity to ride in a racing car driven by a past New Zealand champion, which can either be a hair-raising experience or the thrill of a lifetime, depending on your point of view! The day ends with a special prize giving where trophies are awarded for those who won, those who tried hard and those who inadvertently entertained the rest. Despite appearances to the contrary, all activities at corporate race days are low risk and all instructors are both LTSA-certified driving instructors and experienced racing drivers.
