TrackTime is a multi-faceted automotive company that trains all levels of drivers, from novices to experts. As well as training, TrackTime also arranges automotive events, both public and private.
TrackTime Driving Academy is a practical and engaging learning programme designed to enhance driver confidence and capability. It does this through high-quality instruction and the opportunity to experience leading-edge vehicle technologies in a safe and controlled environment.
The brainchild of well-known motor racing driver Mike Eady, TrackTime combines his passion for cars and the automotive business.
Primarily based in Auckland, much of TrackTime’s driver training is at the Hampton Downs racing circuit. We also train drivers in other regions and the South Island.
TrackTime’s Mike Eady delivers driver training programmes for Mazda and BMW. Mike gained his Senior BMW Instructor qualifications in Munich in 2006.
Snow & Ice Driver Training
TrackTime also delivers the official BMW winter driving programme.
This annual snow and ice training event is held at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds in Wanaka over a 6-day period.
In the video above from the 2014 event you’ll see Mike Eady at the outer limits of control on a snow-covered downhill road at 140 km/h. Alongside him is a slightly concerned looking Christian Cullen, ex-All Blacks star. And in the back seat, grinning from ear to ear, you’ll see well-known New Zealand chef Josh Emett.
